Description
The square-head replacement bolt prepares your gooseneck column for use with a BT8B or BT8BL column bolt lock when the existing top bolt has a hex head.
The top bolt’s head must be smaller than the jam nut so the nut can be tightened after the bolt is secured. The square-head configuration provides the clearance needed.
Check your top column bolt before ordering:
- Square head: Your existing bolt works; no replacement is needed.
- Hex head: Replace the top bolt with the square-head replacement bolt.
Only the top column bolt needs to be replaced. The bottom bolt can remain in place.
